What We Actually Do - Order of PAT Testing


  1. Visual Inspection - Appliance, plug and lead checked for damage, cracks, burn marks
  2. Open Every Plug - Unless sealed/moulded, we open it. Check wiring is correct
  3. Check Every Fuse - Fuse rating checked and replaced if incorrect
  4. Tighten Every Screw Terminal - Loose terminals cause overheating
  5. Tighten Cord Grip
  6. Check Lead For Damage
  7. Test Continuity of Protective Earth - Class 1
    appliances
  8. Test Insulation and Leakage
  9. Record All Results Including Values Digitally
  10. E-mail Results and Certificate Within 12
    Hours
