Checking Fuses for Mains Plug - PAT Testing

Checking Fuses for Mains Plug - PAT Testing
Fuse Check. When PAT Testing Mains Plugs fuses have to be checked as part of the Visual Inspection. This involves opening the plug, checking the fuse for any burn marks or damage.

The fuse then has to be checked for the BS1362 and Asta Approval Symbol ( no other fuses are excepted ).

The Power Rating is checked on the  appliance to make sure the correct fuse is installed ( 3Amp for under 700 Watts of Power or 13Amps Above 700 Watts ).

We replace the Fuse if an incorrect one is found -  for your safety.

The Plug is then sealed, we test the appliance and record the details.
