PAT Testing - ( Portable Appliance Testing ) tests electrical equipment to make sure it is safe to use.
These tests are carried out by Visual check and by a Portable Appliance Tester.
For health and safety reasons, more Insurance
Companies are insisting Portable Appliance Testing is
carried out before a policy is renewed.
What is PAT Testing ?
The Electricity at Work regulations also place a legal
responsibility on employers and self employed persons
to take reasonable practical steps to ensure no danger
results from the use of any electrical appliances.

What is PAT Testing ?
All P.A.T. testers are calibrated annually and we are City
and Guilds 2377-12 qualified.
Order of P.A.T. Testing.
Visual Inspection ( Appliance, Plug and Lead).
Open every plug (unless sealed).
Check every fuse and replace if incorrect.
Tighten every screw terminal.
Tighten cord grip.
Check lead for damage.
Test the continuity of the protective earth.
Test insulation and leakage.
Load test.
Record all results including test result values digitally.
E-mail results and P.A.T. Testing certificate within 12
hours.
